This title in Dinah Zike's Notebooking Central series addresses skills and concepts that students need in their work with informational text across content areas. Relevant standards were addressed in the development of templates. Use these templates as springboards to help students study, to immerse themselves in text and to comprehend informational (non-fiction) text.
Spanish translations of our Notebooking Central titles contain the same content as the English version. Notes to teachers and instructional suggestions are presented in English, while the template labels themselves are in Spanish. Any Visual Kinesthetic Vocabulary manipulatives (VKVs) are presented in English for potential use as good second/dual language practice. Whenever feasible, templates include both English and Spanish terms.

This series of Notebooking Central booklets is a response to teachers who asked for Notebook Foldables that:
- provide graphics to aid comprehension and memory
- provide material that prompt student responses on the backs of tabs, underneath tabs, and on the notebook page surrounding tabs
- provide ideas for the use of Notebook Foldables within different content areas
When using Notebooking Central booklets, choose the pages you consider the most important for your class notebooking and use suggestions from other pages to generate your own ideas. Present a concept, then have students outline and design their own Notebook Foldables.
