Since our last update. . . (May 28th, 2010)Since the Dinah Zike Academy opened in 2006, we've welcomed over 350 educators to our three-day institutes. We've also had many repeat attendees!
In January 2010, we had our first DZA Advanced Training Course. Eighteen certified trainers successfully completed an intensive weekend of teaching, learning, camaraderie, and sharing best practices. This invitation-only course will become a regular part of our schedule of ongoing training for certified DZ trainers.
The Academy has expanded its professional staff to include two more directors! Jami Humphrey is our Director of Cross-Curricular Studies and Nancy Wisker is our new Director of Math and Science. Jami and Nancy join our founding director, Judith Youngers, who is now able to focus on her favorite content area as the Director of Reading/Language Arts/ELL/ESL.
